One of the most striking aspects of the new 2017 Honda CR-V<\/a> is its confident new styling. With a new front design, stylish headlights and wide fenders, this redesigned\u00a0SUV looks even more confident and athletic than its 2016 edition. We also like the sleek and streamlined interior of the new CR-V.<\/p>\n

New Turbocharged Engine on the CR-V<\/h3>\n
While the exterior of the 2017 Honda CR-V will be the first part to wow new car shoppers, the new features under the hood and in the dash might be what convinces them to invest in this compact SUV. The 2016 Honda CR-V came with a single very respectable engine option: a 2.4-liter four-cylinder rated for 185 horsepower.<\/p>\n

In contrast, the 2017 Honda CR-V will be available with two engine choices, depending on the trim chosen. Standard in the LX trim will be a 2.4-liter engine. We’re not sure at this point if it is the same engine as the 2016 model, however that seems likely. This is a nice base engine, but\u00a0drivers looking for a little more power and excitement will enjoy the all-new 1.5-liter turbocharged in-line four-cylinder that will be standard on the EX trim and above. This engine should be able to deliver\u00a0190 horsepower while also maintaining good fuel economy.<\/p>\n

The Honda continuously variable transmission will return for the new model year on all engine options.\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Honda Sense Becomes Standard in\u00a0EX and Above<\/h3>\n

The 2016 Honda CR-V was available on the elite Touring trim with safety features like forward collision warnings and crash mitigation, but the 2017 Honda CR-V will make those great driving advantages available on\u00a0even more trims. The Honda Sense protection system will be standard in the EX trim and above, meaning even more safety on the road, and fewer accidents (and all the bodyshop work <\/a>and hassle that comes with that).<\/p>\n

There are many more great new features that will make their first appearance, or have expanded availability, on the 2017 Honda CR-V, but it style, engine options, and safety features are the top three in our book.
