2017 Honda Civic Type R Release Date<\/h2>\n

The 2017 Honda Civic Type R made its world debut in Switzerland\u00a0at the Geneva Motor Show this week, but the rest of the world is not far behind. This performance-optimized model will make its United States debut at the New York International Auto Show this April. The first Type R-badged Honda (in a well-equipped Touring trim) will go on sale in the United States in late spring of 2017. Detailed pricing and availability information will be available from Honda closer to launch.<\/p>\n

2017 Civic Type R Powertrain<\/h3>\n

The 2017 Honda Civic Type R will come with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated exclusively to a short-throw six-speed manual transmission. Offering rev matching capability and automatic throttle blips for smoother shifts, this powertrain combo should deliver responsive power and performance. It will be rated for 306 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque.<\/p>\n
