2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid Release Date<\/h3>\n

While the Honda Clarity Fuel Cell model has been available in select markets for a while, the Honda Clarity Plug-In and Electric models had their grand debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show <\/a>this last April. The projected launch for the combined electric and gasoline 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is sometime later this year, in two trim levels.<\/p>\n

In a recent press release, Honda said that this hybrid would be launching at dealerships nationwide. Hybrid Powertrain<\/h3>\n

The powertrain of the 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid combines gas and electric power to offer a vehicle with impressive mileage that can also take advantage of versatile fueling options (including plugging into a power outlet, or filling up on traditional gasoline). An electric motor rated for 181 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque will draw power from a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine and a 17-kilowatt hour (kWh) battery pack. When plugged into a 240-volt power outlet (which is the sort of power outlet you might use for a washer and dryer or air conditioning unit) it should have a recharge time of just 2.5 hours.<\/p><\/div>\n

The 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-in Hybrid recently received its EPA evaluations for mileage and range, and the results are encouraging for any driver looking for a distance electric vehicle.
