Powertrain Options on the 2017 Honda Civic<\/h2>\n

The coupe and sedan body styles of the new Honda Civic<\/a> will be available with two engine options: a 2.0-liter in-line four-cylinder or a turbocharged 1.5-liter direct-injected in-line four-cylinder, each of which also available either with a Continuously Variable Transmission or a six-speed manual transmission that offers a unique and engaging driving experience.<\/p>\n

2.0-liter 4-cylinder on the Civic<\/h3>\n

The 2.0-liter four-cylinder comes standard in the LX and LX-P trims of the 2017 Honda Civic coupe, and the LX and EX trims of the sedan version. It offers 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. This is the most powerful base engine ever offered in the Honda Civic. It is available with the six-speed manual transmission in the LX trim, and otherwise comes mated to the continuously variable transmission with Honda G-Design Shift control.<\/p><\/div>\n

Turbocharged 1.5-liter Option<\/h3>\n

The advanced 174-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is available on upper trims of the 2017 Honda Civic coupe and sedan. On the EX-T trim it comes standard with the six-speed manual transmission and offers 167 pound-feet of torque. With the continuously variable transmission (which is available on EX-T trims and standard on EX-L and Touring models) this powertrain has 162 pound-feet of available torque.<\/p><\/div>\n
