Whether they are block parties, parades, or festivals of Irish culture, St. Patrick’s Day celebrations offer a great time to get green, get out, and have an excellent time. In this blog we are going to look at St. Patrick’s Day parades 2018 in Oklahoma City OK and other great events to celebrate this day. Because March 17 is a Saturday in 2018 people will be able to even celebrate on the holiday itself.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades 2018 in Oklahoma City OK

Last year when we wrote about St. Patrick’s Day celebrations we thought that the annual parade would be running as usual. Instead it was cancelled. This year the O’City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is planned to actually happen, but there may also be a second parade sponsored by the Stockyards. We have a few of the relevant facts below.

O’City St. Patrick’s Fest and Parade

This parade is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. on March 17. It is being sponsored and organized by Prodigal. No route information was available at time of writing, but if you are interested in being a part of this parade you can still apply until March 8 at the O’City Parade website.

Stockyards City St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The first ever Stockyards City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. on March 17 and start at McClintock Saloon and Chop House. Irish food and drink will be available to purchase. This event is organized with the O’klahoma Irish Heritage Society. Learn more at the Facebook event.

In addition to the two parades this year, multiple areas of Oklahoma City will be featuring festivals and events with a St. Patrick’s Day and Irish heritage theme. Individuals and families will be able to find cool events happening in Midtown District (10 a.m. to 2 a.m.), the Myriad Botanical Gardens (noon to 4 p.m.), Bricktown (2-12 p.m. TapWerks block party) and likely Downtown. Last year there were also events in the Deep Deuce District and the Plaza District.
